H.265 Cuts Video Transmission by Half

Due early next year, the new H.265 video encoding standard is twice as efficient as the existing H.264 standard used by just about everything. Not only does this make the transmission of Ultra HD, or 4K, video possible over existing broadband services, it will also make it possible to use existing home networking technology to distribute HD video wirelessly inside the home.

And for digital publishers, your videos can be half the file size as before!
