The Print dialog in QuarkXPress lets you select which of the layers in your document you want to print, and it also shows which printing plates will print from each layer. You can use this feature BEFORE printing, to see if your design will create more plates than you need. Here’s how it works:
In the Print dialog, click on the Layers item in the list of options, and you’ll see all the plates that will print because of the items on that layer:
To see all the plates that will print from all the active layers, click on the Colors item in the list:
