Quark: “One Source to Print and Digital: Web, iPad, Tablets, Smartphones, RSS…”

At the Intelligent Content 2011 conference, Quark will be presenting a special session on how companies can empower their employees who are not technical or creative to publish vital content across media and platforms — and reduce costs dramatically while doing it.

I’ve seen how the system works, and it truly does allow designers to spend more time being creative, instead of hand-holding the efforts of content providers. :-)

The conference occurs Feb 16-18 in Palm Springs, California. Quark’s press release is below. (BTW, I looked up DITA and it’s an acronym for “Darwin Information Typing Architecture.” So there.)

Quark Hosting DITA Workshop at Intelligent Content 2011

Denver, CO – January 26, 2011 – Quark is a proud sponsor of the upcoming Intelligent Content 2011 <http://www.rockley.com/IC2011/>   conference taking place in Palm Springs, CA on February 16-18. Now in its third year, the conference is an annual meeting of thought leaders and practitioners dedicated to improving the findability, usability, adaptability and delivery of content to a wide variety of users, when, where and how they need it.

At the conference, Mark Lewis, Quark’s DITA product manager for usability, will present a workshop called “Measuring the ROI in DITA” which will take attendees on a tour of a topic-based cost model that proves the savings possible with DITA and content reuse. Workshop participants will take away custom spreadsheets that can be used to prove the value of moving content to DITA.
