How to Build QuarkXPress Documents from XML Data and Templates
I saw an interesting post on Quark’s user forums about what it takes to generate QuarkXPress documents using QuarkXPress templates and an XML text file.
The first question was: “Can QuarkXPress Server be used for this?”
Answer: YES!
The second question was: “Can it be done without QuarkXPress Server?”
Answer: Yes, using AppleScript on a Mac.
Quark’s Andy Dyer gave a detailed reply, complete with code examples and links to AppleScripting resources and developer documentation for QuarkXPress Server.
