A while back, Quark helped create ILoveDesign.com, a gathering place for designers to share their designs and discuss their love of design. Our previous stories mention the unique aspects of iLoveDesign.com, which not only lets you showcase your best work, but also features video testimonials from prominent designers, including David Carson, Peter Saville, Chipp Kidd, and Otmar Hoefer.
This week, a new free iPhone app was released at Apple’s iTunes store that lets designers explore and interact with ILoveDesign.com. Have a look at Quark’s press release below for further details.
Leading Online Design Community Releases Free Mobile Application for Designers
ILoveDesign.com and Quark announced the release of a new free iPhone and iPod Touch application for designers on the move. The new iPhone app, available immediately from the iTunes Store, enables designers to share projects, inspiration and opinions directly from their mobiles.
“ILoveDesign.com has seen tremendous success since its launch in 2008. It continues to inspire and excite graphic designers and provide a forum to share ideas, comment, critique, and celebrate great design,” said Terry Welty, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Quark. “Now with the iPhone app, they can be inspired by designs wherever they are, engage with other designers and take their design portfolio with them to showcase to potential clients or share with friends.”
The new iPhone application lets users browse, share thoughts on and rate thousands of projects from the ILoveDesign.com website and includes the following features:
- News feed – See the latest activity on the site
- Gallery – Easily browse and interact with design projects including: Designs of the week; Featured projects; My projects; Most popular projects; Show me random projects; Latest uploads
- My account – Log into your ILoveDesign.com account to see and show-off your projects and comment on and rate other people’s designs
You don’t need to be a member of ILoveDesign.com to use the iPhone application, but registration at www.ilovedesign.com is free and unlocks additional functionality in the application. Members of the ILoveDesign.com community can upload their artwork, create an online portfolio with their own unique URL, access exclusive interviews and video content with famous designers such as David Carson and Chip Kidd, enter regular design competitions, and interact with other users in the gallery by commenting on and rating their work. There are no strings attached. This is a site created for designers and kept up-to-date by designers. It doesn’t matter what software you use.
