Find Your Scanner’s Best Spot

You can find your scanner’s “sweet spot” by scanning a solid white piece of paper in RGB mode into Photoshop at 100 ppi. Use Photoshop’s Threshold command (Image> Adjustments> Threshold) and “bad” areas of your scanning area will appear with gray or black patterns as you drag the slider to the right.

Make a mental note of those areas and be sure not to use them when scanning important artwork.
