The Macintosh version of QuarkXPress 7 and 8 display a welcome screen when you first launch the application, and every time you close all Project windows. If you click the “Don’t Show Again” checkbox, you won’t see it again.
To summon that Welcome Screen any time, just choose it from the Window menu.
If you’d like to reset the “Don’t Show Again” checkbox so that the Welcome Screen displays at every launch and every time you close all Project windows, choose QuarkXPress> Preferences (Windows: Edit> Preferences). Choose Application> Display and then click the button labeled “Show All Alerts“.
(Note: to see the Welcome Screen in QuarkXPress 7, you need to install the Welcome Screen XTension, available at http://labs.quark.com. QuarkXPress 8 includes it by default.)
