You can use QuarkXPress’s Line Check feature to find widows, orphans, loosely justified lines, lines that end with a hyphen, and text box overflow. Just choose Utilities> Line Check and in the Search Criteria dialog box, check the categories of undesirable typography you want to search for.
Line Check then moves through the Layout, highlighting questionable lines. To search the entire Layout, place the cursor somewhere in the text and choose Utilities > Line Check > First Line. To search from the location of the cursor to the end of the document, place the cursor where you want to start the search and choose Utilities> Line Check> Next Line or press Command-; (Windows: Ctrl-;). To continue the search, repeat the keyboard shortcut.
