Update Only Selected Pictures in QuarkXPress
QuarkXPress 7.31 adds the ability to let you update selected instances of a modified picture, rather than being forced to update all the instances that you used in a Layout. When you choose Utilities> Usage…, select the instance(s) you want to update, then hold down the Shift key when you click the “Update…” button. Only the picture boxes that you selected will now contain the updated (modified) picture.
Bonus tip #1: to select more than one item in the Usage dialog box, hold down the Command key (Win: Control) and click on the ones you want to select; to select a contiguous series of items, click on the first item and then hold down the Shift key and click on the final item.
Bonus tip #2: if you do want to update all the modified pictures, and don’t want to be bothered by the dialog that warns you you’re about to update all of them, hold down the Option key. The “Update…” button will change to “Update” and all instances will be updated when you click it.

Hello
You forgot the Shift-Key:
Updating single occurrences of modified images
Earlier versions of QuarkXPress had no option to update a single occurrence of a modified image in a layout through the Usage dialog box. Users can now use the Shift key to update a single occurrence of a modified image in a layout.
Yours faithfully
