Daily Tip: Vector Background
EPS vector graphics do not have a background color unless one was created in the original picture.
White areas of the graphic will display according to the box color, which is None by default. To make sure the graphic does not have a transparent background, go to Item> Modify, click the Box tab, and choose White or another color from the Box Color drop-down menu.

Is there a way to have vector graphics display more smoothly? I know that we can not import native .ai files but they even look rougher that .eps. I understand the print will be fine but screen view still does not. I have checked in preferences and did not see any option that would make a difference in this preview.
Perhaps it is an extension or plug-in. Working with Quark 8.
Thanks.
Jo: do you know about the Full Resolution Preview in QuarkXPress? That’s what tells it to display graphics in all their glory. Just Control-click (or right-click) on a graphic and choose Preview Resolution> Full Resolution. I hope that gives you what you’re looking for.
