Fit Box to Text: Video Tutorial
QuarkXPress 7 includes an XPert BoxTools XTension that automatically fits a text box to the text that’s inside it.
Choose Window> XPert BoxTools> Fit Text.
Then select an option for expanding or contracting the text box to fit its text:
either from the bottom, right side, left side, or top. Click the Fit button and the box will resize to perfectly fit its content.
You can watch a 1.5 minute video tutorial that demonstrates this feature here.

I am new to Quark (I am working on QuarkXPress 7). I just downloaded the XPert BoxTools XTension and was wondering if I can assign a shortcut key so that I don’t have to click the palette, pick the fit direction and then hit the final key. In InDesign there are less options but a nice quick key command to fit the box to text.
Jannette: I don’t think there’s an option for that. But wouldn’t it be great? (Quark? Are ya listening?)
I just wrote about VTools, which includes a button for that. I’m not sure if it lets you assign a keyboard shortcut. There’s more info here:

Thank you Jay :) Oh, and thanks for the vtools info!
